About the Project

Sunday’s Photos

A few months ago, we knew nothing about 35mm photography.  Now, we still know nothing, but we are learning!  Our goal for Sunday’s Photos is to explore the world of 35mm photography through the eyes of two young people who have grown up in a digital age.  We will share our struggles and our achievements – probably mostly struggles.  As we learn, we want to help you learn with comprehensive tutorials on how to get started in 35mm photography.

Good luck with the project. I think it great you are keeping the spirit of 35mm film photography alive. I shot film for more than 30 years and sometimes I feel I should go back to it. I certainly prefer my Minolta XD-7 SLR, in terms or weight and size, to any of the full-frame DSLRs. Having said that, I do prefer the immediacy and convenience of digital photography; it’s just digital cameras I don’t care for too much.

I agree with what you said, the convenience of digital cameras, especially now that they are becoming increasingly small in size ( have you seen the olympus pen yet? ) is tempting. However, nothing is more satisfying than getting back some amazing prints from my Canon AE-1! All the extra put in to taking the shot makes it that much more amazing to see the final product :)
